Nova 2Getting started with Nova 2 takes a minute: sign in, open the chat experience and send your first multimodal request.
1. Sign in with Google
Click Try Nova 2 and continue with Google. Nova 2 only supports Google sign-in, so there is no separate password to remember.
2. Start the chat experience
After signing in, click Try Nova 2 again. Your credits are checked automatically:
- With credits available, you go straight into the chat experience.
- With no credits left, you are taken to the pricing page to buy a credit pack or a plan.
3. Write a request that uses the multimodal input
Nova 2 accepts more than text. A good first request combines an input with an instruction:
- "Summarize this 80-page report and list the three biggest risks."
- "Describe what happens in this video and list the key moments with timestamps."
- "Extract the tables from this document and turn them into a comparison."
4. Use the long context window
The context window reaches up to 1 million tokens, so you can keep long documents and previous turns in the same conversation instead of re-uploading them. If an answer drifts, start a new chat and restate the goal in one sentence.
5. Pick the right model for the job
- Nova 2 Lite for high-volume text, image, video and document work where speed and cost matter.
- Nova 2 Sonic when the conversation should be spoken.
- Nova Multimodal Embeddings when you need search and similarity across mixed media.
6. Watch your credits
Each request consumes credits. You can check your balance from the user menu, and top up from the pricing page whenever you run low.
